July 4th, Thursday – Independence Day – Office Closed
It’s a celebration of FREEDOM! A great time to be with others and enjoy a grilled hot dog or burger and take in a fireworks display or the old fashioned Lennox, SD parade. Here in the church, not a bad time to pause and give thanks for the freedom that is our because of what Christ has done. A good fourth of July bible reading: Galatians 5:1

The Church Council has already heard of my plans to work this summer on finishing my writing of a three year curriculum for confirmation entitled, “I Send You.” Last year was a trial run for this style of teaching and I liked the results! So, I appreciate a solid of week of time off in retreat trying to get this project done for the years to come. Thanks to Pastor Ray Heidenson for handling worship. Thanks! Pastor Greg

|July 30, Tuesday, 7:00 p.m.—Youth ministry summit
I will be reaching out to parents who have children (infant through high school) to attend this evening conversation. I hear it from everyone: our world is changing and we have to find new ways to make sure we are passing along the faith to our children in effective ways. This will be as urgent a meeting as I have ever been a part of. No guilt. Just honest conversation about the culture in which we live; the pace of the lives of our young; the realities of parenting; all to discover some new ways that we as a congregation can be effective in teaching our kids that they are the ones who are “sent” to be Christ’s hands and feet in this world. Child Care will be provided. A letter will be sent asking for an RSVP from each household as to whether or not this Tuesday night will work. A second date may be chosen for those who are not able to attend the July 30th meeting. Thankful for the Spirit’s ability to guide us into new beginnings. Pastor Greg
