April 2nd, Tuesdays, 4:00 p.m. & 5:45 p.m. – Yoga classes
Yoga meets two different times on Tuesday evenings with Beaver Valley’s own Gingi Hanson. Through meditation, stretching and breathing techniques you will be led to a sense of peace and well-being. All are welcome. If you have questions, please contact Gingi at 582-6448.

April 3rd & April 10th, Wednesdays, 5:30 p.m. Meal; 6:45 p.m. – Lenten Mid-week Worship
The Max Lucado video series, “Anxious for Nothing,” continues. Thanks to the many scores of members who have set time aside to be a part of these Lenten worship opportunities and provide food and labor to make the meals a friendly, shared experience.
April 3rd, Wednesdays, 6:00 p.m. – Adult Choir
Shelly Berg and Gingi Hanson will again lead the adult choir in offering themselves to the worshipping community through Lent and into the season of Easter before they take their break for the summer. This will be a great time to welcome new voices to the choir! Come and eat early, then sing until 6:40p.m. in time to join the congregation for Lenten worship.
April 4th, Thursdays, 7:00 a.m.– Men’s Breakfast
Men, this is our chance for some “small group” time. We meet at Tailgators restaurant for good food and fellowship and some faith talk mixed in. Our numbers are growing! Come and join in! We order right away and folks can leave when they need to leave.
April 4th, Thursday, 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. – St. Dysmas Lutheran Service
We are invited to attend the St. Dysmas Lutheran Service behind the walls of the South Dakota State Penitentiary on April 4, 2019 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm Thanks to Bev Maxwell for again coordinating this event.
April 7th, Sunday 10:45 a.m.–WELCA-Leaders Meeting
The Leaders Meeting will be April 7th after worship services. General meetings will be held every other month beginning in May. All women of the church are invited to attend the upcoming General Meeting on May 5th after worship services. Please see the letter insert for the upcoming topics such as kitchen updates and “Beginning Baskets” that WELCA will be involved in.
April 7th, Sunday 10:45 a.m.—Easter Sunrise Planning
Both the Senior High and Confirmation youth and parents are invited to pack into the Youth Room and put plans together for making the Easter Sunrise service and breakfast go well. Thank you in advance for making the effort to be a part of this meeting and to help in lots of ways to make Easter the celebration it should be.
April 9th, Tuesday 7:00 p.m.—New Member class #3
We are hopeful that we will have several households deciding to join in the ministry of our congregation. This is the night in which new members will meet their sponsors in preparation for their reception on Palm Sunday, April 14th.
April 10th, Wednesday 7:45 p.m.—Bethany Volunteer Orientation
We will meet after our last Lenten service is over. We will talk about the various opportunities for Beaver Valley members to support the work of Bethany Home in Brandon. There are a variety of ways that we, as one of six remaining owner congregations, can support the Bethany ministry. Come and learn!
April 11th, Thursday, 7:00 p.m. – Council Meeting
The church council will meet to conduct monthly business on this second Thursday. Members of Beaver Valley are always welcome to sit in on these meetings. Any business or concerns that you would like to present to the council should be made known to church council president, Gary Parker, at any time.
April 14th, Sunday – Palm Sunday/ New Member Reception
Our children will lead us into the joyous spirit of Palm Sunday (please see Youth page for student participation details). In the middle of this service, we will welcome new members seeking to join in the work of our congregation. Be a part of this powerful beginning of Holy Week.
April 18th, Thursday, 7:00 pm—Maundy Thursday Holy Communion Worship
This quiet, “Commandment Thursday” night is the first of two mid-week opportunities to hear the last stories of the Passion Narrative and to celebrate Holy Communion. Special Music.
April 19th, Friday – 7:00 pm – Good Friday
This quiet, “Good Friday” service remembers the fact that “God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son to die for us.” Special music, the last three Passion narrative readings from St. Luke’s gospel and Holy Communion.
April 20th, Saturday, 9:00 a.m. – Art Gathering
Bring your supplies and join other art enthusiasts on the 3rd Sat. morning of each month in the Fellowship Hall at 9am. This is a great time for those who enjoy doing artwork-watercolor painting, acrylics, drawing etc. – to gather to work on their projects and to learn from and inspire one another. April 21st, Sunday, Easter Morning – Worship and Breakfast
Starting at 7:00 a.m. Easter Morning, join us for Easter Sunrise Worship at 7:00 a.m. We will service Easter Breakfast from 7:45 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. Then we will have a Traditional Easter Worship following breakfast at 9:30 a.m.
April 21st, Sunday, Easter Morning – Churchmen Easter Egg Hunt, after 9:30 a.m. Service
Come find Easter eggs after our 9:30 a.m. Worship Service. Easter Egg Hunt for preschool thru 3rd grade. This will take place in the Fellowship hall.
